Jane joined B&J in 2012 as Managing Director and has over 30 years experience in the steel and metal rolling industry. Having graduated from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow with a BEng (hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering she joined British Steel as a graduate trainee in the mid 1990’s. While working in the Netherlands for Corus in 2003 Jane was selected for the Advanced Senior Management Development Program which resulted in a Warwick Business School MBA. Having held senior management roles in British Steel, Corus and Caparo Industries as well as working in Germany and the Netherlands Jane was brought into Bowers & Jones to streamline the business and prepare it for sale. Following several changes of ownership, Jane, eventually with her fellow directors, competed a successful MBO and factory move to Bilston in the West Midlands in 2020.

Outside of work Jane spends time with her family and enjoys traveling and running. As a keen long-distance runner, she completed the London Marathon in 2024 and raises money for charities including Teenage Cancer Trust and Action Heart. Her dogged determination to succeed and attitude to problem solving helps her drive the success of the business while leading by example to motivate her staff.
